Biathlon: Preuß und Lesser Dritte - Mixed-Staffel auf Rang vier
Franziska Preuß und Erik Lesser sind zum Abschluss des Biathlon-Weltcups in Otepää/Estland in der Single-Mixed-Staffel auf das Podium gestürmt. Das Duo des Deutschen Skiverbandes (DSV) belegte mit 17,9 Sekunden Rückstand (0+4) hinter den überragenden Norwegern mit der dreimaligen Peking-Olympiasiegerin Marte Olsbu Röiseland (0+1) und Schweden (0+4/+12,4) den starken dritten Platz.
Es war im Single Mixed die erste deutsche Podestplatzierung seit der WM 2020 in Antholz, als auch Preuß und Lesser Silber gewonnen hatten. Für Lesser (33) war es das letzte Staffelrennen seiner erfolgreichen Karriere.
Zuvor hatte am Sonntag das deutsche Team in der Mixed-Staffel das Podium verpasst. Das DSV-Quartett mit Vanessa Voigt, Denise Herrmann, Roman Rees und Benedikt Doll belegte über 4x7,5 km Rang vier. Der Sieg ging deutlich an Olympiasieger Norwegen (0+7) vor Schweden (0+8/+22,5 Sekunden) und Frankreich (0+6/+34,6).
Das deutsche Mixed-Team (0+6), das bei Olympia Fünfter geworden war, hatte 1:53,7 Minuten Rückstand auf die auch in diesem Rennen überragenden Norweger. Eine bessere Platzierung vergab Startläufer Rees. Er hatte beim Nachladen erhebliche Probleme. "Das war eine total dämliche Situation", sagte er in der ARD: "Es war gar keine gute Leistung von mir." Rees übergab nur auf Rang 13.
Das Weltcup-Finale steigt von Donnerstag bis Sonntag am Holmenkollen in Oslo. Geplant sind Rennen in Sprint, Verfolgung und Massenstart.
