Im Pokal: Gulacsi gibt Comeback nach langer Verletzungspause
Torwart Peter Gulacsi von Titelverteidiger RB Leipzig wird im Erstrundenspiel des DFB-Pokals beim Zweitligisten SV Wehen Wiesbaden sein Comeback nach fast einjähriger Verletzungspause geben. Dies teilte Trainer Marco Rose vor der Partie am Mittwoch (20.45 Uhr/ARD und Sky) mit. Der Ungar hatte sich im vergangenen Oktober im Champions-League-Spiel gegen Celtic Glasgow einen Kreuzbandriss zugezogen.
Gulacsi war zuletzt wieder ins RB-Aufgebot zurückgekehrt und saß bei den Ligaspielen gegen den FC Augsburg (3:0) und bei Borussia Mönchengladbach (1:0) sowie in der Königsklasse bei den Young Boys Bern (3:1) auf der Bank. In seiner Abwesenheit war Gulacsi vom einstigen Ersatzkeeper Janis Blaswich stark vertreten worden. Bevor das Duell zwischen Blaswich und Gulacsi um die Nummer eins folgt, will Rose den Routinier jedoch erst einmal "peu a peu integrieren".
"Wir haben großes Vertrauen in Pete und seine Qualität. Und trotzdem wissen wir um die Verletzung und die Ausfallzeit. Und wir wissen, was Janis in der Zeit geleistet. Es gibt einfach keine Diskussionen. Wir sind im täglichen Austausch", sagte Rose: "Die Jungs wissen, wo sie stehen. Ich glaube, dass Pete sich freut. Es ist immerhin nach elf, zwölf Monaten sein Comeback. Das ist ein wichtiger Moment. Alles was dann dahinten dranhängt, ist zum einen ein Konkurrenzkampf. Aber ich werde dann nicht im Dreitagesrhythmus die Torwartposition kommentieren oder wechseln. Wir sind da sehr gut aufgestellt."
