Alonso zu Real-Gerüchten: "Das ist kein Thema"
Die Gerüchte um einen möglichen Wechsel zu Real Madrid zur kommenden Saison lassen Trainer Xabi Alonso vom Fußball-Bundesligisten Bayer Leverkusen kalt. "Es ist zu früh. Wir sind im September, das ist kein Thema", sagte der Spanier am Freitag. Radio Marca hatte in dieser Woche berichtet, dass Alonso große Chancen habe, ab der Saison 2024/25 als Nachfolger von Carlo Ancelotti bei den Königlichen zu übernehmen.
"Ich bleibe natürlich fokussiert, wir haben die Saison gut angefangen. Wir wollen alle Spiele fokussiert bleiben, und ich muss der Erste sein", sagte der Welt- und Europameister. Auch in der Mannschaft seien die Gerüchte "kein Thema", erklärte Alonso: "Wir haben nicht darüber gesprochen."
"Wir haben eine gute Energie und ein gutes Ziel, für das wir kämpfen. Das ist wichtig genug, um den Fokus zu halten", sagte Alonso, der am Samstag (15.30 Uhr/Sky) bei Tabellenschlusslicht FSV Mainz 05 den nächsten Sieg einfahren will.
Für den lange verletzten Torjäger Patrik Schick, der nach einer Adduktorenoperation wieder ins Training eingestiegen ist, kommt die Partie bei den 05ern aber noch deutlich zu früh. "Wenn alles gut läuft, hat er eine Chance für Wolfsburg nach der Länderspielpause", sagte Alonso.
