Eggestein bleibt Freiburg treu
Mittelfeldspieler Maximilian Eggestein bleibt dem Fußball-Bundesligisten SC Freiburg treu. Der 27-Jährige und die Breisgauer "haben eine Verlängerung der Zusammenarbeit vereinbart". Über die Vertragsdauer machte der Sport-Club wie gewohnt keine Angaben.
Eggestein war im Sommer 2021 vom Ligarivalen Werder Bremen zum SC gekommen und bestritt seither 116 Pflichtspiele im Freiburger Trikot. Dabei erzielte er sechs Tore und bereitete acht Treffer vor. Vor der laufenden Saison wurde Eggestein zum stellvertretenden Kapitän gewählt.
"Ich bin jetzt seit fast drei Jahren hier und es fühlt sich eigentlich länger an - das zeigt, dass ich hier beim Sport-Club am richtigen Platz bin", sagte Eggestein: "Wir sind auf einem sehr guten Weg und ich freue mich auf die weitere Zeit in Freiburg."
