Betrug beim Dopingtest: Sperre für Gabriel Barbosa
Der brasilianische Fußballprofi Gabriel Barbosa ist wegen versuchten Betrugs bei einem Dopingtest für zwei Jahre gesperrt worden. Das teilte das Sportgericht in Brasilien am Montag mit. Die Sperre für den Angreifer von Flamengo Rio de Janeiro, der 2016 mit der Olympia-Auswahl die Goldmedaille gewann, soll rückwirkend am 8. April 2023 in Kraft treten.
An diesem Datum soll Gabriel Barbosa in der Vereinszentrale in Rio einen unangekündigten Doping-Test gestört haben, indem er lokalen Medienberichten zufolge unter anderem die Beamten ignorierte und dessen Anweisungen nicht befolgte.
Gabriel Barbosa bestreitet die Vorwürfe. Der 27-Jährige, der in Europa für Inter Mailand und Benfica Lissabon spielte, kann gegen die Entscheidung Berufung einlegen.
Der Stürmer absolvierte für den fünfmaligen Weltmeister 18 Länderspiele, in denen ihm fünf Treffer gelangen. Nach dem Gold-Triumph von Rio war der Angreifer für fast 30 Millionen Euro zu Inter Mailand gewechselt. Nach vier Jahren und mehreren Leihen verkauften die Italiener Gabriel Barbosa in seine Heimat an Flamengo.
