Sane: "Wir finden schon eine sehr gute Rolle"
Leroy Sane von Bayern München gibt sich trotz seiner aktuellen Länderspielsperre mit Blick auf die Heim-EM gelassen. Über seine Rolle in der Nationalmannschaft habe er mit Bundestrainer Julian Nagelsmann "noch nicht so viel gesprochen. Das werden wir aber noch, das hatte er auch angekündigt. Wir kennen uns gut, kommen sehr gut miteinander klar. Wir finden da schon eine sehr gute Rolle", sagte Sane bei Sky.
Der 28 Jahre alte Offensivspieler war trotz seiner Rotsperre vor dem Klassiker gegen die Niederlande am Dienstagabend (20.45 Uhr/RTL) zum DFB-Team nach Frankfurt gereist. "Man sieht die Jungs nicht allzu oft. Es geht auch um einiges, deswegen ist es wichtig, dass ich dabei bin", sagte Sane.
Der Bayern-Star fehlte nach seiner Roten Karte im November gegen Österreich schon beim 2:0 gegen Frankreich. Auch im ersten von zwei Länderspielen unmittelbar vor der EM am 3. Juni gegen die Ukraine in Nürnberg ist Sane noch gesperrt. Dennoch baut Nagelsmann auf ihn: "Er hat eine Qualität, auf die wir nicht verzichten wollen oder verzichten können."
Erst bei der Turniergeneralprobe am 7. Juni gegen Griechenland in Mönchengladbach ist Sane wieder einsatzfähig. Eine Woche später startet die DFB-Elf in München gegen Schottland in die EURO.
