Streich lässt Zukunft nach Freiburg-Ende offen
Kulttrainer Christian Streich hat derzeit noch keine konkreten Pläne für die Zeit nach seinem Abschied beim SC Freiburg. "Ich habe keine Ahnung, weiß es nicht. Ich weiß nicht, was mit mir im Juni ist", sagte der 58-Jährige: "Was ich merke, ist, dass diese letzten zwei Jahre im Europapokal außergewöhnlich toll waren. Aber sie waren brutal intensiv mit den vielen, vielen Spielen." Es komme nun "darauf an, wie viel Zeit ich brauche, um mich zu regenerieren und zu erholen."
Er sei in den 29 Jahren im Verein "immer absolut auf dem oberen Level" gefahren und brauche eine Pause. "Es würde mich sehr wundern, wenn ich irgendwo im Juli aufschlagen würde", betonte Streich: "Dann müsste ich ein besonderes Mittel finden, das schnell wirkt für Regeneration. Ich weiß nicht, ob das auf dem Markt ist und wenn dann ist es wohl unbezahlbar oder illegal. Ich kann es mir nicht vorstellen."
Er habe in seinem Leben bislang immer eine Struktur durch die Arbeit gehabt. "Jetzt habe ich keine Arbeit mehr und damit keine Struktur", erklärte Streich: "Es geht darum, eine neue Struktur zu schaffen. Ich habe das noch nie in meinem Leben gehabt." Er wolle "für die Zukunft nichts ausschließen, einfach weil ich nichts seriös ausschließen kann, weil ich mich bislang nullkommanull damit auseinandergesetzt habe". Er müsse sehen, was er und seine Familie brauchen.
Sein Entschluss zur Beendigung der Trainertätigkeit beim Profiteam nach zwölfeinhalb Jahren bleibe jedenfalls "richtig, egal was kommt. Es war an der Zeit", sagte der gebürtige Badener: "Der Verein braucht neue Energien, das wird passieren. Da freue ich mich total, es sieht positiv aus. Es ist sehr wichtig, dass die Mannschaft was Neues kriegt."
