Volleyball: Champion Berlin verliert Finalauftakt
Titelverteidiger Berlin Recycling Volleys ist zum Auftakt des Play-off-Finales in der Volleyball-Bundesliga leicht überraschend in Rückstand geraten. Der Hauptstadt-Klub musste nach zuletzt sieben Titelgewinnen in Serie in eigener Halle im ersten Duell der Dauerrivalen und Rekordmeister mit dem VfB Friedrichshafen durch ein 2:3 (22:25, 25:18, 25:21, 20:25, 11:15) seine erste Niederlage in der K.o.-Phase der laufenden Saison quittieren.
Berlin steht dadurch auf der Jagd nach seiner achten Meisterschaft in Serie nunmehr unter Druck. Denn Friedrichshafen, das ebenso wie Berlin den Titel bisher 13-mal gewonnen hat, genießt im zweiten Duell am Mittwoch (19.00 Uhr) erstmals im elften Endspielduell der beiden deutschen Spitzenmannschaften nacheinander Heimrecht. Spiel Nummer drei findet am Samstag (18.00 Uhr/beide Dyn) wieder in Berlin statt.
