Olympische Flamme für Sommerspiele in Paris wird in Griechenland entzündet
101 Tage von den Sommerspielen in Paris wird am Dienstag die Olympische Flamme im antiken Olympia entzündet. An der Zeremonie in den Ruinen des 2600 Jahre alten Hera-Tempels im Südwesten Griechenlands nehmen die griechische Staatschefin Katerina Sakellaropoulou sowie der Präsident des Internationalen Olympisches Komitees (IOC), Thomas Bach, teil. Zudem werden zahlreiche weitere Würdenträger und erstmals seit der Corona-Pandemie wieder hunderte Zuschauer erwartet.
Erster Fackelträger ist der griechische Olympia-Sieger im Rudern, Stefanos Ntouskos. Für Frankreich wird die Schwimmerin Laure Manaudou als Erste die olympische Fackel tragen. Nach einem 5000 Kilometer langen Fackellauf durch Griechenland wird die Flamme ab dem 27. April 12.000 Kilometer weit durch das Festland und die Überseegebiete von Frankreich getragen. Die Olympischen Sommerspiele werden am 26. Juli eröffnet und dauern bis zum 11. August.
