NBA-Play-ins: James in den Play-offs - Curry scheitert
Die Los Angeles Lakers um Basketball-Superstar LeBron James stehen in den Play-offs der NBA. Die Lakers gewannen ihr Play-In-Duell bei den New Orleans Pelicans mit 110:106 und zogen in die Meisterrunde ein. Als Siebter der Setzliste trifft L.A. in der ersten Runde ab dem kommenden Wochenende auf Meister Denver Nuggets um Nikola Jokic. Im Vorjahr waren die Lakers und Denver im Conference-Finale aufeinandergetroffen. Die Nuggets siegten 4:0.
Gescheitert ist dagegen Superstar Stephen Curry. Mit dem früheren Serienmeister Golden State Warriors verlor Curry, der auf 22 Punkte kam, das zweite Play-in bei den Sacramento Kings mit 94:118 und ist damit ausgeschieden. Das letzte Play-off-Ticket im Westen wird zwischen den Pelicans und den Kings ausgespielt. Der Gewinner spielt zum Auftakt der Play-offs gegen Oklahoma City Thunder.
James, der zum 17. Mal in den Play-offs steht, führte die Lakers mit 23 Punkten als Top-Scorer seines Teams zum Erfolg. Auch auf D'Angelo Russell (21) und Anthony Davis (20) war Verlass. New Orleans hatte in Zion Williamson (40), der sich spät verletzte, seinen besten Werfer. Die Lakers hatten zwischenzeitlich 18 Punkte Vorsprung, verspielten diesen aber im schwachen Schlussviertel und ließen die Pelicans ausgleichen. Am Ende setzten sich die Kalifornier dennoch durch.
