DFB: Kircher wird Geschäftsführer Sport der Schiri GmbH
Der frühere FIFA-Referee Knut Kircher wird zum 1. Juli Nachfolger von Lutz Michael Fröhlich als Geschäftsführer Sport der DFB Schiri GmbH und als Mitglied im DFB-Schiedsrichterausschuss. Dies teilte der Deutsche Fußball-Bund (DFB) am Freitag mit.
Bereits im Dezember 2023 hatte sich die Gesellschafterversammlung der DFB Schiri GmbH für die Berufung Kirchers entschieden. Diese Entscheidung wurde nun formell vom DFB-Präsidium umgesetzt. Fröhlich (66), der seit der Gründung der GmbH 2022 diese Funktion ausübte, scheidet auf eigenen Wunsch aus.
Kircher (55) hatte von 2001 bis 2016 unter anderem 244 Bundesliga-Spiele gepfiffen. Von 2004 bis 2012 war der gebürtige Tübinger FIFA-Schiedsrichter.
