Herzog: Rangnick-Wechsel wäre "ein großer Verlust"
Der frühere Bundesliga-Star Andreas Herzog kann sich ein Engagement von Ralf Rangnick beim FC Bayern sehr gut vorstellen, sähe es allerdings für seine Heimat Österreich als sportlichen Rückschlag. "Es wäre natürlich bitter, wenn er weggehen würde. Das wäre ein großer Verlust", sagte der frühere Rekordnationalspieler, der 1995/96 selbst für die Bayern aufgelaufen ist, im Interview mit dem Nachrichtenportal t-online.
Rangnick (65) sei "ein ausgewiesener Fachmann" und habe in Österreich Euphorie entfacht. "Sein großes Ziel war immer, mit Österreich bei der EM in Deutschland als Deutscher dabei zu sein", sagte Herzog. Dieses Ziel sei erreicht: "Da könnte ich mir schon vorstellen, dass bei ihm Interesse da sein könnte, wenn Bayern ruft."
Rangnicks Unterschrift beim deutschen Rekordmeister soll unmittelbar bevorstehen, laut eines Berichts der SZ sind nur noch Vertragsdetails zu klären. Zudem wolle der Österreichische Fußball-Bund (ÖFB) seinem Nationaltrainer trotz Vertrags bis 2026 keine Steine in den Weg legen. Der FC Bayern sucht einen Nachfolger für Thomas Tuchel.
