NBA: Wagner-Brüder mit erstem Sieg - Hartenstein verliert
Franz und Moritz Wagner haben bei ihrer Play-off-Premiere in der NBA erstmals ein Erfolgserlebnis gefeiert. Die Weltmeister gewannen mit Orlando Magic das dritte Achtelfinale gegen die Cleveland Cavaliers in heimischer Halle mit 121:83 und wendeten in der Basketball-Profiliga das schnelle Aus ab. Das Team aus Florida verkürzte nach den beiden Auftaktniederlagen in der Best-of-seven-Serie auf 1:2, es war für Orlando der erste Heimsieg in den Play-offs seit 2011.
Franz Wagner stand wie gewohnt in der Starting Five und kam auf 16 Punkte, fünf Rebounds sowie acht Assists. Sein älterer Bruder Moritz schaffte in knapp 18 Minuten zwei Punkte und sechs Rebounds. Matchwinner der Magic war Paolo Banchero mit 31 Zählern und 14 Rebounds. Die Differenz von 38 Punkten war der drittgrößte Vorsprung in einem Play-off-Spiel in der Geschichte der Magic.
Der deutsche Center Isaiah Hartenstein musste derweil mit den New York Knicks die erste Niederlage in den Play-offs einstecken. Die Knicks unterlagen den Philadelphia 76ers mit 114:125, liegen in der Best-of-seven-Serie aber immer noch mit 2:1 in Front. Hartensteins 14 Punkte und vier Rebounds waren ebenso wie 39 Zähler von Jalen Brunson zu wenig, da auf der Gegenseite Joel Embiid mit 50 Punkten aufdrehte.
