St. Pauli dicht vor dem Aufstieg - Hertha aus dem Rennen
Der FC St. Pauli hat den Aufstieg in die Fußball-Bundesliga dicht vor Augen. Zum Auftakt des 31. Spieltags in der 2. Liga gewann das Team von Trainer Fabian Hürzeler 1:0 (0:0) gegen Hansa Rostock, übernahm die Tabellenführung und kann im schlechtesten Fall nur noch auf den Relegationsplatz abrutschten.
Diesen kann Hertha BSC indes nicht mehr erreichen - weil das Team von Trainer Pal Dardai beim 1:1 (1:0) gegen Hannover 96 einen späten Gegentreffer kassierte. Bei nun zehn Punkten Rückstand auf Fortuna Düsseldorf, das den Relegationsplatz belegt, ist jede theoretische Chance auf die Bundesligarückkehr dahin.
St. Pauli, das über den Treffer des Australiers Jackson Irvine (52.) jubelte, kann nicht mehr auf den vierten Platz abrutschten. Diesen belegt der Hamburger SV, der 14 Punkte weniger hat als St. Pauli. Die Düsseldorfer, die den dritten Platz belegen und am Samstagabend (20.30 Uhr/Sky und Sport1) bei Schalke 04 spielen, liegen aktuell acht Punkte hinter Hürzelers Team.
Nach einer schwachen ersten Halbzeit drehte St. Pauli auf. Irvine setzte sich nach einer Ecke durch und traf per Kopf für die Hamburger, die die Sorgen der Rostocker im Tabellenkeller noch verschärften. Hansa könnte im weiteren Verlauf des Wochenendes auf einen direkten Abstiegsplatz abrutschen.
In Berlin traf Marc-Oliver Kempf per Kopf nach einer Ecke von Trainer-Sohn Palko Dardai zu Herthas Führung (13.). Enzo Leopold (90.+3) glich spät aus. Nach Herthas Führungstreffer entwickelte sich ein rasantes Spiel, wobei Hannover das bessere Team war. Bis zur Pause scheiterte 96 jedoch zweimal am Aluminium.
Die Hannoveraner haben zumindest noch theoretische Chancen auf Rang drei, auch diese können aber bereits am Samstagabend dahin sein.
