Struff siegt gegen Munar und steht in Runde drei von Madrid
Der deutsche Tennis-Profi Jan-Lennard Struff ist beim ATP-Masters in Madrid in die dritte Runde eingezogen. Gegen den Spanier Jaume Munar feierte er einen 6:1, 7:5-Sieg und muss im nächsten Match gegen Ugo Humbert aus Frankreich antreten. Nach starkem Beginn mühte er sich vor allem im zweiten Teil des Spiels.
Den ersten Durchgang entschied Struff im Schnelldurchgang deutlich für sich, schon nach 29 Minuten verwandelte der 34-Jährige den Satzball. Danach bekam er zwar Schwierigkeiten, konnte sich aber letztendlich nach 1:26 Stunden den Sieg sichern.
Zuvor war auch Daniel Altmaier in die dritte Runde eingezogen. Nach einer starken Vorstellung gewann der Deutsche mit 6:2, 6:3 gegen den jungen Franzosen Arthur Fils und revanchierte sich beim Weltranglisten-32. für die Zweitrundenniederlage vor einer Woche in Barcelona.
Am Abend ist außerdem noch Olympiasieger Alexander Zverev gegen Borna Coric gefordert.
