Leipzig-Direktor wehrt sich gegen Transferweg-Kritik
Christopher Vivell, Technischer Direktor bei DFB-Pokalsieger RB Leipzig, hat Kritik am kurzen Transferweg zwischen dem Bundesligisten und Schwesterklub RB Salzburg zurückgewiesen. "Einige ehemalige Spieler aus Salzburg sind in Leipzig, das sieht auf dem Papier nicht so toll aus. Trotzdem ist es verdammt schwer, diese Spieler zu verpflichten", sagte Vivell im Podcast kicker meets DAZN: "Es ist nicht so, dass wir jeden Spieler bekommen, den wir wollen."
Als Beispiele führte Vivell Erling Haaland und Karim Adeyemi an, die aus Salzburg zu Borussia Dortmund gewechselt waren. Von Salzburg nach Gladbach, Dortmund oder Leipzig zu gehen, sei ein "richtiger und gesunder, idealer Schritt für einen jungen Spieler", sagte Vivell.
Eine weitere Verstärkung aus Salzburg hat RB Leipzig allerdings bereits sicher. Zur kommenden Saison stößt das slowenische Sturmtalent Benjamin Sesko (19) zu den Sachsen und erhält dort einen Vertrag bis 2028. "Bei Sesko hatten wir den Vorteil, dass wir ihn ewig kennen. Ich kenne ihn, seit er 15 ist. Gott sei Dank haben wir es geschafft, ihn zu überzeugen, dass er nächstes Jahr zu uns kommt, was richtig viel Arbeit war", sagte Vivell.
