Nach ihrem Comeback im Trikot des FC Chelsea kehrt Torhüterin Ann-Katrin Berger auch zu den deutschen Fußballerinnen zurück. Die 31-Jährige, die sich zuletzt einer erneuten Krebstherapie unterziehen musste, wurde für das Länderspiel der Vize-Europameisterinnen am 7. Oktober in Dresden gegen Frankreich (20.30 Uhr/ARD) nominiert.
"Wir freuen uns sehr, dass Ann-Katrin Berger wieder dabei sein kann. Das ist die schönste Nachricht rund um diese Länderspielmaßnahme", sagte Bundestrainerin Martina Voss-Tecklenburg, die zudem auf die zuletzt fehlenden Giulia Gwinn (Bayern München) und Lena Oberdorf (VfL Wolfsburg) zurückgreifen kann.
Das Interesse der Fans am ersten Heimspiel der Auswahl des Deutschen Fußball-Bundes (DFB) nach der EM-Endrunde ist groß - wie von den Verantwortlichen erhofft. Für die Neuauflage des EM-Halbfinals (2:1) wurden bereits über 24.000 Eintrittskarten verkauft.
