Bundestrainerin kritisiert Zeidler: "Unterste Schublade"
Ruder-Bundestrainerin Brigitte Bielig hat Einer-Weltmeister Oliver Zeidler wegen dessen Rundumschlag gegen den Verband scharf kritisiert. Sie habe "tatsächlich auch individuelle Gespräche geführt", aber von strukturellen Problemen oder personellen Konsequenzen habe sie "aus seinem Mund nie etwas gehört", sagte Bielig der Sächsischen Zeitung: "Ich muss schon sagen, das war unterste Schublade."
Zeidler hatte den Deutschen Ruderverband (DRV) rund um die enttäuschende Heim-EM öffentlich massiv kritisiert und im SID-Interview vor der WM in der vergangenen Woche betont, er habe seine Kritik auch "intern bereits mehrmals angesprochen". Bei der für den DRV historisch schwachen WM in Racice/Tschechien holte der 26-Jährige mit Gold die einzige deutsche Medaille in den olympischen Bootsklassen.
"Wir haben einen neuen Vorstand, den Leistungssport in der Hauptverantwortung des Sportdirektors. Wir haben so viel neu angestoßen, dass das auch Zeit braucht, um wirksam zu werden, das sehen viele nicht", sagte Bielig, die das Hinzuziehen einer externen Beratungsagentur zur Problemlösung begrüßt: "Es ist doch gut, wenn jemand von außen draufschaut. Ich bin überzeugt, so viel machen wir nicht falsch."
Laut der Bundestrainerin, die seit Oktober 2021 im Amt ist, benötigt der Verband Zeit, um wieder den Anschluss an die Weltspitze herzustellen. Für die Sommerspiele in Paris 2024 sei das Ziel nicht, "dass wir das Ergebnis von Olympia groß verbessern können", sagte Bielig: "Wenn wir die zwei Medaillen von Tokio 2021 wieder erreichen, hätten wir unser Ziel erreicht. Unser langfristiger Aufbau geht bis 2028."
