Rallye: Rovanperä nach Geburstags-Gala vor WM-Titel
Rallye-Ausnahmetalent Kalle Rovanperä greift nach einem Gala-Auftritt an seinem 22. Geburtstag nach seinem ersten WM-Titel. Der Finne stürmte bei der Rallye Neuseeland am Samstag vom vierten Platz an die Spitze und geht im Toyota mit 29,0 Sekunden Vorsprung auf seinen französischen Markenkollegen Sebastien Ogier in die letzten Wertungsprüfungen am Sonntag.
Rovanperäs Verfolger Ott Tänak (Estland/Hyundai) liegt mit 46,4 Sekunden Rückstand auf Platz drei. Bei diesem Stand würde Rovanperä schon nach der drittletzten Saisonstation als Champion feststehen. Der achtmalige Weltmeister Ogier ist in dieser Saison auf eigenen Wunsch nur noch Teilzeitkraft.
Rovanperä, der fünf der ersten sieben Rallyes des Jahres gewinnen konnte, hat in Neuseeland bereits seine dritte Chance auf die vorzeitige Krönung - in Belgien und Griechenland zeigte er zuletzt Nerven. Rovanperä würde zum mit Abstand jüngsten Rallye-Weltmeister aufsteigen.
