Mahnwachen und Menschenkette zu 79. Jahrestag von Bombardierung Dresdens
In Dresden wird am Dienstag an die Zerstörung der Stadt durch Bombenangriffe vor 79 Jahren erinnert. Mit einer Menschenkette, die sich gegen 18.00 Uhr schließen soll, wollen tausende Menschen der Kriegstoten gedenken und zugleich für Toleranz und Vielfalt demonstrieren. Der Bombardierung Dresdens wird am Dienstag auch mit vielen weiteren Veranstaltungen wie Mahnwachen und Kranzniederlegungen gedacht.
Bei schweren Luftangriffen alliierter Bomber auf Dresden am 13. und 14. Februar 1945 wurden etwa 25.000 Menschen getötet sowie weite Teile der historischen Altstadt zerstört. Rechtsextremisten versuchen immer wieder, den Jahrestag der Bombardierung für ihre Zwecke zu instrumentalisieren. Auch in diesem Jahr gab es bereits am Sonntag einen Aufmarsch von etwa 800 Rechten. Dagegen stellten sich schätzungsweise 4000 Gegendemonstranten.
