T-Mobile kauft Mobilfunk-Anbieter in Teilbesitz von Ryan Reynolds
Die Telekom-Tochter T-Mobile in den USA kauft das Mobilfunkunternehmen Mint Mobile, das sich teilweise im Besitz von Hollywood-Star Ryan Reynolds befindet. T-Mobile wird nach eigenen Angaben vom Mittwoch bis zu 1,35 Milliarden Dollar (rund 1,26 Milliarden Euro) für den Mint-Mobile-Mutterkonzern Ka'ena zahlen. Ka'ena gehören neben dem Prepaid-Anbieter Mint Mobile auch der auf internationale Telefonate spezialisierte Anbieter Ultra Mobile und das Telefonunternehmen Plum.
"Ich hätte mir nie erträumt, dass mir einmal ein Mobilfunkunternehmen gehört, und ich hätte mir sicherlich nie erträumt, dass ich es an T-Mobile verkaufe", schrieb Reynolds im Onlinedienst Twitter. "Das Leben ist seltsam und ich bin unglaublich stolz und dankbar."
Der aus Filmen wie "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" und "Deadpool" bekannte Schauspieler war 2019 bei Mint Mobile eingestiegen. Laut der Nachrichtenagentur Bloomberg erwarb er rund ein Viertel der Anteile.
Reynolds trat auch regelmäßig in humorvollen Werbespots des Anbieters auf, in denen er sich - manchmal begleitet von seiner Mutter oder seiner Schwägerin - direkt an die Kunden wandte. Er soll weiter seine "kreative Rolle" bei Mint ausüben, wie T-Mobile erklärte.
