US-Schauspielerin Meryl Streep wird mit spanischem Kulturpreis geehrt
Die US-Schauspielerin Meryl Streep wird in diesem Jahr mit dem prestigeträchtigen spanischen Prinzessin-von-Asturien-Preis ausgezeichnet. Die Jury teilte am Mittwoch mit, die 73-jährige Oscar-Preisträgerin werde für ihre Arbeit geehrt, "bei der sie höchst komplexe weibliche Charaktere verkörpert". Streep hat bereits mehr als 60 Filme gedreht und drei Mal einen Oscar gewonnen, den letzten 2012 für ihre Rolle als britische Premierministerin Margaret Thatcher.
Der Prinzessin-von-Asturien-Preis ist mit 50.000 Euro dotiert und wird im Oktober in der nordspanischen Stadt Oviedo während einer im Fernsehen übertragenen Zeremonie von Spaniens König Felipe VI. überreicht.
