US-Country-Legende Dolly Parton hat für ihr nächstes Album den Beatles-Hit "Let It Be" gemeinsam mit den ehemaligen Bandmitgliedern Paul McCartney und Ringo Starr neu aufgenommen. Der Track wird auf Partons neuem Album "Rockstar" zu hören sein und wurde am Freitag veröffentlicht.
"Kann es etwas Besseres geben, als 'Let It Be' mit Paul McCartney zu singen, der den Song geschrieben hat?" fragte die 77-Jährige aus diesem Anlass auf ihrer auf Website. "Nicht nur das, er hat auch Klavier gespielt", fügte sie hinzu.
Noch besser sei es geworden, als zudem "Ringo Starr am Schlagzeug, Peter Frampton an der Gitarre und Mick Fleetwood am Schlagzeug dazu kamen", erklärte Parton und dankte den "Jungs".
Partons 49. Album wird am 17. November veröffentlicht. Es enthält ihre Interpretationen von 21 Pop- und Rockklassikern sowie neun Originalversionen. Nach Angaben des Online-Musikportals "Billboard" sollen zu dem Album auch Elton John, Sting, Lizzo, Pink, Debbie Harry, Steve Perry, Steven Tyler, Stevie Nicks, Pat Benatar, Joan Jett, John Fogerty, Miley Cyrus und Ann und Nancy Wilson beigetragen haben.
