14 Verletzte bei Massenkarambolage in Köln - Verdacht auf illegales Autorennen
In Köln sind bei einem schweren Auffahrunfall 14 Menschen teils schwer verletzt worden. Ein 28-Jähriger sei am Freitagabend am Steuer eines gemieteten Audi SUV im Stadtteil Deutz ungebremst an einer roten Ampel in haltende Fahrzeuge gerast, erklärte die Polizei am Samstag. Der Unfallverursacher sei festgenommen worden. Staatsanwaltschaft und Polizei gaben am Abend bekannt, dass "wegen des dringenden Verdachts eines verbotenen Kraftfahrzeugrennens" Haftbefehl gegen den Mann erlassen wurde.
Als die Einsatzkräfte am Unfallort eintrafen, fanden sie zehn Pkw "ineinander geschoben, teilweise auch aufeinander gestapelt" vor, hatte ein Polizeisprecher der Nachrichtenagentur AFP in der Nacht zu Samstag gesagt. Der Audi sei abgehoben und auf dem Dach eines Kleinwagens liegen geblieben, präzisierte die Polizei später. "Zahlreiche weitere Autos wurden bei der Kollision ineinandergeschoben und verkeilt."
Insgesamt 14 Menschen wurden den Angaben zufolge verletzt und mussten im Krankenhaus behandelt werden. Der Fahrer des Audis sowie die 30-Jährige Fahrerin des Kleinwagens blieben in stationärer Behandlung. Die Polizei beschlagnahmte den Audi sowie drei Mobiltelefone und ließ im Krankenhaus eine Blutprobe des Mannes entnehmen.
