Britischer König Charles III. reist Ende Oktober nach Kenia
Der britische König Charles III. und seine Frau Camilla reisen Ende Oktober zu einem viertägigen Staatsbesuch nach Kenia. Wie der Buckingham-Palast am Mittwoch mitteilte, besuchen König und Königin das ostafrikanische Land vom 31. Oktober bis zum 3. November, um das "herzliche Verhältnis" beider Länder und ihre "starke und dynamische Partnerschaft" zu feiern.
Kenias Präsident William Ruto hatte das Königspaar zu dem Besuch eingeladen. Kenia feiert im Dezember den 60. Jahrestag der Unabhängigkeit von Großbritannien. Es ist der erste Besuch von Charles III. in einem Commonwealth-Land seit seiner Thronbesteigung im September 2022. Auf dem Programm stehen Besuche in Kenias Hauptstadt Nairobi und der Hafenstadt Mombasa.
