Internationaler Schachverband prüft Betrugsvorwürfe von Carlsen gegen Niemann
Der Internationale Schachverband (Fide) geht Betrugsvorwürfen des fünffachen Schach-Weltmeisters Magnus Carlsen gegen den jungen US-Spieler Hans Niemann nach. Ein Untersuchungsausschuss bestehend aus drei Mitgliedern der Fair-Play-Kommission werde die Vorwürfe untersuchen, teilte Fide am Freitag mit. Die Kontroverse sorgt in der Schachwelt schon seit Wochen für Wirbel. Carlsen hatte sich Anfang September vom Sinquefield Cup in den USA zurückgezogen, nachdem Niemann ihn dort geschlagen hatte.
Vergangene Woche brach Carlsen dann ein Spiel gegen Niemann beim Online-Schachturnier Julius Baer Generation Cup ab. Diese Woche sprach der 31-jährige Norweger offen über seinen Betrugsverdacht gegen den 19 Jahre alten Niemann. "Ich glaube, dass Niemann noch mehr betrogen hat" und das auch noch in jüngster Zeit, schrieb Carlsen in einem Brief, den er im Onlinedienst Twitter veröffentlichte.
Carlsen bezog sich dabei darauf, dass Niemann in der Vergangenheit zugegeben hatte, dass er bei Online-Schachspielen zwei Mal betrogen habe - einmal im Alter von zwölf und einmal im Alter von 16 Jahren. Anfang September untersagte die bedeutende Schach-Website chess.com Niemann, die Plattform weiter zu nutzen, weil er bei chess.com betrogen habe.
Niemann versicherte, dass er niemals bei einem Präsenz-Turnier betrogen habe. Er bot sogar an, nackt zu spielen, damit Tricksereien ausgeschlossen werden könnten.
Der Schachverband erklärte, die nun eingeleitete Untersuchung solle zwei Punkte überprüfen: Carlsens Betrugsvorwürfe gegen Niemann und Niemanns eigene Äußerungen zu seinem Betrug bei Online-Spielen.
