Schwerer Waldbrand in Ostspanien während ungewöhnlich hoher Temperaturen
Während ungewöhnlich hoher Temperaturen ist im Osten Spaniens ein Waldbrand ausgebrochen, der auch Häuser bedrohte. Durch die in der Nähe von Valencia wütenden Flammen seien bereits mehr als 500 Hektar Fläche zerstört worden, teilten am Montag die Einsatzkräfte mit. Knapp 200 Menschen seien vorsorglich aus ihren Häusern in Sicherheit gebracht worden.
Das Feuer brach den Angaben zufolge am Sonntag in Tárbena aus. Es wurde durch heftigen Wind und für diese Jahreszeit außergewöhnlich hohe Temperaturen und die dadurch verursachte Trockenheit begünstigt: Das Thermometer kletterte in der Region am Wochenende auf bis zu 30 Grad Celsius.
In Spanien wüten immer wieder schwere Waldbrände. 2022 wurden rund 300.000 Hektar Land durch mehr als 500 Feuer zerstört. Im vergangenen Jahr waren es rund 91.000 Hektar verbrannte Fläche.
