Frankreich leidet nun offiziell landesweit unter Trockenheit - und bereitet sich auf die dritte Hitzewelle in diesem Sommer vor. Als letztes Gebiet des Landes stuften die Behörden am Dienstag die Hauptstadt Paris und ihr Umland als trocken ein. Der Wetterdienst Météo-France teilte mit, für Mittwoch und Donnerstag sei in Frankreich mit Temperaturen zwischen 34 und 38 Grad zu rechnen, stellenweise sogar mit 40 Grad.
Diese neue Hitzewelle dürfte demnach kürzer und weniger intensiv als die Hitzewelle Mitte Juli ausfallen. Die erneuten hohen Temperaturen machen allerdings deutlich, wie sich der Klimawandel auswirkt. Außerdem trifft die Hitze viele bereits extrem trockene Gebiete, so dass negative Folgen für die Landwirtschaft, den Schiffsverkehr auf Flüssen und den Wassersport zu befürchten sind.
Wegen der verbreiteten Trockenheit gelten derzeit in Frankreich unterschiedlich scharfe Beschränkungen bei der Wassernutzung. Nach Einschätzung von UN-Experten müssen Länder wie Frankreich sich angesichts des Klimawandels auf immer längere Trockenphasen einstellen.
