Apfelernte wird in diesem Jahr voraussichtlich besonders gut ausfallen
Ob als Kuchen, Saft oder einfach als gesunder Imbiss: Äpfel sind in Deutschland das mit Abstand am meisten geerntete Obst. In diesem Jahr wird die Apfelernte laut vorläufiger Schätzung mit 1,051 Millionen Tonnen besonders gut ausfallen, wie das Statistische Bundesamt am Donnerstag mitteilte. Somit würden rund 4,6 Prozent mehr Äpfel als im Vorjahr und rund 8,3 Prozent mehr als im zehnjährigen Durchschnitt geerntet.
Die ertragreiche Apfelernte ist laut den Statistikern auch dem Wetter zu verdanken: Die Bäume, die in diesem Jahr besonders viele Früchte tragen, erlitten bislang nur wenig Krankheits- und Schädlingsbefall. Die Obstbaubetriebe hofften deshalb auf eine "überdurchschnittlich gute Apfelernte".
In ganz Deutschland werden auf rund 34.000 Hektar Fläche Äpfel angebaut. Die größten Anbaugebiete liegen in Baden-Württemberg am Bodensee, in Niedersachsen und in Sachsen - mehr als zwei Drittel der deutschen Äpfel kommen von hier.
Während die Apfelernte in diesem Jahr mit voraussichtlich 80.000 Tonnen deutlich über dem zehnjährigen Durchschnitt liegt, wird die Pflaumen- und Zwetschenernte voraussichtlich um 4,3 Prozent geringer ausfallen. Im Vorjahresvergleich steht aber auch hier ein Plus von voraussichtlich 6,4 Prozent - insgesamt werden laut Statistischem Bundesamt in diesem Jahr rund 42.000 Tonnen Pflaumen und Zwetschen geerntet.
