Weltkriegsbombe an Hauptbahnhof Cottbus entschärft
Im brandenburgischen Cottbus ist eine Weltkriegsbombe nahe dem Hauptbahnhof am Dienstag erfolgreich entschärft worden. Der Kampfmittelbeseitigungsdienst habe die Bombe entschärft, teilte die Stadt mit. Weil der Boden über der Bombe gefroren war, musste dieser zunächst erwärmt werden. Rund 3800 Menschen hatten für den Einsatz bis zum Morgen ihre Häuser verlassen müssen. Die Sperrungen wurden anschließend aufgehoben.
In der vergangenen Woche war die rund hundert Kilogramm schwere Bombe bei Bauarbeiten nahe dem Bahnhof entdeckt worden. Die Fundstelle wurde aus Sicherheitsgründen wieder mit Erde bedeckt. Im Sperrkreis befand sich neben dem Hauptbahnhof unter anderem eine Grundschule. Diese blieb den ganzen Tag geschlossen.
Der Bahnverkehr wurde ab dem Mittag eingestellt. Auch der städtische Verkehr war durch die Entschärfung eingeschränkt. Rund 50 Menschen kamen in einer eigens eingerichteten Notunterkunft unter. Etwa 30 Menschen benötigten Hilfe bei der Evakuierung.
