Siebeneinhalb Jahre Haft für Pathologen im Saarland wegen Fehldiagnosen
Das Landgericht Saarbrücken hat einen Pathologen wegen fehlerhaft ausgewerteter Gewebeproben und Fehldiagnosen erneut verurteilt. Der 64-Jährige soll wegen Totschlags und fahrlässiger Körperverletzung für siebeneinhalb Jahre in Haft, wie ein Gerichtssprecher am Dienstag mitteilte. Der Pathologe war bereits im Juli vom Landgericht zu einer Haftstrafe verurteilt worden, nachdem ein Patient nach einer unnötigen Operation gestorben war.
Er wurde damals wegen schwerer Körperverletzung, fahrlässiger Tötung und fahrlässiger Körperverletzung in drei Fällen schuldig gesprochen. Mittlerweile ist das Urteil rechtskräftig. Das Landgericht bezog dieses Urteil in die Entscheidung vom Dienstag mit ein und bildete eine neue Gesamtstrafe. In dem zweiten Prozess ging es um zwei weitere Fälle, die erst nach dem ersten Verfahren angeklagt wurden.
Nach Ansicht des Gerichts hatte der Mann seinen Beruf ausgeübt, obwohl er wusste, dass er wegen seiner gesundheitlichen Probleme nicht mehr in der Lage war, den Facharztstandard einzuhalten. Er nahm billigend in Kauf, dass Menschen deswegen sterben könnten.
