Berüchtigter italienischer Camorra-Boss will offenbar mit Justiz kooperieren
Vom Angeklagten zum Kronzeugen: Nach mehr als 26 Jahren im Gefängnis will der berüchtigte Mafiaboss Francesco Schiavone, den in Italien alle unter seinem Decknamen "Sandokan" kennen, offenbar mit der Justiz zusammenarbeiten. Dies erfuhr die Nachrichtenagentur AFP am Freitag aus italienischen Justizkreisen. Der frühere Chef des Casalesi-Clans, des mächtigsten Clans der neapolitanischen Mafia-Organisation Camorra, galt bis zu seiner Festnahme 1998 als einer der brutalsten Kriminellen Europas.
Die Vorsitzende des parlamentarischen Anti-Mafia-Ausschusses, Chiara Colosimo, begrüßte Schiavones Entscheidung zur Kooperation mit den Behörden als "schweren Schlag gegen die Camorra und das organisierte Verbrechen". In den vergangenen Jahren hatten sich bereits mehrere Familienmitglieder Schiavones zu diesem Schritt entschlossen, darunter zwei seiner fünf Söhne.
Schiavone war 1998 in einem Bunker in seinem Heimatdorf festgenommen worden und verbüßt derzeit eine lebenslange Haftstrafe. Kürzlich wurde er von einem Gefängnis in Norditalien in das Gefängnis von L'Aquila verlegt. Der Casalesi-Clan wurde durch den Enthüllungsroman "Gomorrha - Reise in das Reich der Camorra" von Roberto Saviano bekannt, der auch verfilmt wurde.
Saviano zeigte sich am Freitag jedoch skeptisch hinsichtlich einer möglichen Zusammenarbeit Schiavones mit der Justiz. Denn dann müsste der Mafioso auch enthüllen, "wo das Geld der Camorra liegt", schrieb Saviano im Onlinedienst Instagram. Ob ihm dies gelinge, "ohne die wahren Verbindungen zu Politik und Wirtschaft aufzuzeigen", sei jedoch fraglich.
