James Blunt reportedly sought extra underwear during Celebrity Traitors filming
James Blunt reportedly asked Celebrity Traitors production staff to buy additional underwear after running out during filming at Ardross Castle.
James Blunt reportedly asked Celebrity Traitors production staff to buy additional underwear after running out during filming at Ardross Castle.
Figures from reports, one famous contestant found himself in a predicament while shooting at Ardross Castle in the Scottish Highlands.
As a result, it’s said James Blunt had to ask BBC bosses to buy him more pants.
The You’re Beautiful singer, 52, reportedly ran out of underwear while filming for Claudia Winkleman’s deceitful game show, which is believed to take 16 to 18 days for a full series.
A source said: ‘He kindly asked if a member of production could buy him some and was quite particular about what he wanted.’
Fortunately for James, despite the twisted nature of the game itself, producers remained faithful to the stars.
‘James is a true gent, and production staff were more than happy to help,’ the insider told The Sun.
The rumours come after reports that James was actually reprimanded by BBC bosses for using a Traitors image to promote a flashy suit.
As such, he was told to delete a post promoting a £1,695 outfit he wore during the show, linking to the brand.
When contacted for comment, a spokesperson for the BBC told Metro: ‘The BBC has clear guidelines in place around commercial activity which we take very seriously, and players have been reminded of this. The social media posts referred to have been taken down.’
Speaking recently about his time on the programme, in which he is a Faithful, James revealed his wife, Sofia, whom he married in 2014, actually got him involved.
He told The One Show: ‘I haven’t watched much TV, and I found out from my wife that I was on Celebrity Traitors – she signed me up for it.’
Thankfully, he didn’t go in blind, adding that he was ‘given a speed-watch of the whole thing’, which we can imagine was a rollercoaster of a binge-watch.
Viewers have been loving James’s on-camera antics on The Celebrity Traitors, from his hilarious shower scene to his athletic attire during missions.
In fact, his military background has proven extremely useful during the gruelling tasks, as he’s taken charge of the group and gone into full Army captain mode once again, barking orders and implementing strategies, allowing them to bank money for the prize pot.
But what James makes up for in physicality, he certainly lacks in character judgement – sorry, James.
The Faithful has been ruthlessly mocked on social media for his consistently wrong theories, despite quipping that watching him in the castle must have been like ‘watching Sherlock at work’.
James famously pointed the finger at Corrie’s Julie Hesmondhalgh, which led to her banishment and another victory for Traitors Maya Jama, James Acaster, and King Kenny.
He also declared content creator Kenny one of ‘the most innocent’ players and backed the murderous trio to be granted a mystery power in the latest mission, believing them to be the ‘most trustworthy’.
After the reveal that Kenny had been issued The Dagger, granting him a double vote at the roundtable, the songwriter painfully declared: ‘It’s in the right hands.’
What’s more, James has been fixating on actress Sharon Rooney’s so-called change in behaviour, voting for her to be banished and leading to her suspecting him right back.
Basically, when it comes to detective work, he’s hitting all the wrong notes.
Still, he’s taking the ruthless mocking and memes in his stride and even joins in the banter after each episode.
‘Nailed it’, he tweeted after spouting off more wrong theories in Friday’s episode, while also starting a series named Blunt Theories, where he posts clips of the scenes where he gets things astonishingly wrong.
Never mind, James. At least you got your pants.
The BBC declined to comment.
The Celebrity Traitors continues next Thursday at 8pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
