Japanischer Film "Monster" erhält in Cannes Filmpreis "Queer Palm"
Der japanische Film "Monster" ist auf dem Filmfestival in Cannes am Freitagabend als bester Film zum Thema LGBTQ mit der "Queer Palm" ausgezeichnet worden. Der Spielfilm von Regisseur Hirokazu Kore-eda, der auch im offiziellen Wettbewerb läuft, beginnt wie ein Drama über Mobbing in der Schule, erzählt aus mehreren Perspektiven. Die Handlung entwickelt sich zu einer engen Freundschafts- und Liebesbeziehung zwischen zwei Jugendlichen und wird mit großer Zartheit gefilmt.
Der Filmpreis "Queer Palm" wird seit 2010 vergeben und zeichnet jedes Jahr einen Kurz- oder Spielfilm aus, der sich mit LGBTQ- oder feministischen Themen auseinandersetzt. Die englische Abkürzung LGBTQ steht für lesbisch, schwul, bisexuell, transgender und queer. 2022 wurde der pakistanische Spielfilm "Joyland" ausgezeichnet.
Das internationale Filmfestival in Cannes geht am Samstagabend mit der Verleihung der Goldenen Palme für den besten Film zu Ende. 21 Filme konkurrieren bei den 76. Festspielen an der Côte d'Azur um den Hauptpreis. Auch der deutsche Regie-Altmeister Wim Wenders kann sich nach seinem Erfolg 1984 mit "Paris, Texas" Hoffnungen auf eine weitere Goldene Palme machen. Er ging mit dem Film "Perfect Days" über einen feinsinnigen japanischen Putzmann in den Wettbewerb.
Die deutsche Schauspielerin Sandra Hüller hat Chancen auf den Preis als beste Darstellerin. Sie war gleich in zwei Hauptrollen im Wettbewerb zu sehen: als Nazigattin in Jonathan Glazers "The Zone of Interest" und als mutmaßliche Ehegattenmörderin in "Anatomy of a Fall" von Justine Triet.
