Dolly Partons Album "Rockstar" landet an Spitze von Charts Top Album Sales
US-Country-Legende Dolly Parton hat mit ihrem neuen Album "Rockstar" die Spitze der US-Charts Top Album Sales übernommen. Das Album der 77-jährigen Sängerin verkaufte sich nach Angaben des Branchendienstes Billboard in den USA binnen einer Woche 118.500 Mal. Es ist das erste Mal, dass die Country-Musikerin in dieser seit 32 Jahren bestehenden Rangliste auf dem ersten Platz landet.
Bei den Top Album Sales werden laut Billboard "traditionelle Album-Verkäufe" berücksichtigt, also verkaufte CDs, LPs und Kassetten sowie kostenpflichtig heruntergeladene Alben. Die bekannteren Charts Billboard 200 umfassen auch Daten von Streaming-Anbietern wie Spotify, Amazon Music und Apple Music.
Bei diesen Charts startete Dolly Partons "Rockstar" auf dem dritten Platz, hinter dem erstplatzierten Album "For All The Dogs" des kanadischen Rappers Drake und "1989 (Taylor's Version)" von Country-Pop-Sängerin Taylor Swift.
"Rockstar", eine Mischung aus Songs von Dolly Parton und von Cover-Songs, war am 17. November in den Handel gekommen. Für ihr erstes Rockalbum arbeitete die Country-Ikone mit einer Reihe von Musik-Superstars zusammen, darunter mit den Ex-Beatles Paul McCartney und Ringo Starr für eine Version von "Let It Be", mit Sting, Elton John, Miley Cyrus und Aerosmith-Sänger Steven Tyler.
