Verbraucherzentrale: Gekaufte Vanillekipferl teurer und teils mit Aroma
Fertige Vanillekipferl aus dem Supermarkt sind teurer als selbst gebackene und enthalten manchmal Aroma statt frischer Vanille. Das zeigt eine Stichprobe der Verbraucherzentrale Rheinland-Pfalz von zehn konventionell hergestellten Backmischungen, Fertigteigen und fertig gebackenen Kipferln, wie die Verbraucherexperten am Mittwoch im Mainz mitteilten.
Gekaufte Plätzchen sind demnach pro Kilogramm im Schnitt etwa neun Euro teurer als selbstgebackene. Die fünf getesteten fertigen Plätzchen seien mit einem Grundpreis von durchschnittlich 16,08 Euro pro Kilogramm mit Abstand am teuersten. Die Fertigteige aus dem Kühlregal kosten zuzüglich der Kosten für Strom zum Backen und für Puder- und Vanillezucker im Schnitt 8,82 Euro pro Kilogramm. Bei den Backmischungen, zu denen Butter und Eier kommen, liegt der Durchschnittspreis am Ende bei 7,18 Euro pro Kilogramm.
Bei selbstgebackenen Vanillekipferln mit vollwertigeren Zutaten liegen die Durchschnittskosten demnach bei 7,24 Euro pro Kilogramm. Auch bei der Zutat Vanille wird der Verbraucherzentrale zufolge bei den Fertigprodukten teilweise getrickst. Nicht in jedem Plätzchen oder Teig stecke frische Vanille. Bei einigen würden Aromen verwendet, während Kurkuma für die typisch gelbliche Farbe sorge.
