Bericht: Mathematikerin Plattner soll neue Chefin des BSI werden
Die Mathematikerin Claudia Plattner soll neue Chefin des Bundesamts für Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik (BSI) werden. Das berichteten der "Spiegel" und weitere Medien am Dienstag unter Berufung auf Informationen aus der Bundesregierung. Plattner, die damit als erste Frau die Leitung des BSI übernehmen würde, war zuletzt als Generaldirektorin für Informationssysteme bei der Europäischen Zentralbank tätig.
Zuvor war die Mathematikerin bei der Bahn-Tochter DB Systel für die Modernisierung der IT der Deutschen Bahn zuständig. Sie hat an der Technischen Universität Darmstadt und an der Tulane University im US-Bundesstaat Louisiana Mathematik studiert.
Plattner wird demnach an der Spitze der IT-Sicherheitsbehörde BSI Nachfolgerin von Arne Schönbohm, den Bundesinnenministerin Nancy Faeser (SPD) im November als BSI-Chef abberufen hatte. Hintergrund waren Vorwürfe, wonach Schönbohm Kontakte zu einem Verein mit Verbindungen zu russischen Geheimdienstkreisen gehabt haben soll. Das BSI ist insbesondere für den Schutz vor Hackerangriffen zuständig.
