Lego behauptet sich als weltweit umsatzstärkster Spielwarenhersteller
Der dänische Spielwarenhersteller Lego hat seinen Umsatz im ersten Halbjahr kräftig gesteigert. Zwischen Januar und Ende Juni erzielte das Unternehmen mit seinen bunten Bausteinen und Figuren einen Umsatz von 27 Milliarden Kronen (3,6 Milliarden Euro), das war ein Plus von 17 Prozent. Der Nettogewinn ging gleichwohl etwas zurück, wie Lego am Mittwoch mitteilte - um 1,6 Prozent auf 6,2 Milliarden Kronen.
Lego festigte damit seine Position als weltweit umsatzstärkster Spielwarenhersteller - trotz seines Rückzugs aus Russland. "Wir haben seit dem 24. Februar kein einziges Produkt nach Russland geschickt", sagte Lego-Chef Niels Christiansen. Dafür seien die anderen weltweiten Märkte rascher gewachsen und hätten so die Verluste aus dem fehlendem Russland-Geschäft ausgeglichen.
Schon in den vergangenen zwei Jahren hatte Lego glänzende Geschäftszahlen vorgelegt. Das Unternehmen hatte von der Corona-Pandemie dahingehend profitiert, dass sich wegen der Lockdown-Maßnahmen viel zu Hause abspielte. Auch im ersten Halbjahr eröffnete Lego erneut neue Filialen - von insgesamt 66 allein 46 in China. Derzeit arbeitet das Unternehmen intensiv daran, sein Spielzeug nachhaltiger zu produzieren.
