Süßwarenindustrie fürchtet wegen Energiepreisen Verlust der Wettbewerbsfähigkeit
Wegen der explodierenden Energiepreise fürchtet die deutsche Süßwarenindustrie um ihre Wettbewerbsfähigkeit in der EU und auf internationaler Ebene. "Wir erleben derzeit, dass europäische Wettbewerber, etwa in Frankreich oder Spanien, deutliche Produktionskostenvorteile haben", beklagte der Bundesverband der Deutschen Süßwarenindustrie (BDSI) am Freitag. Die heimischen Hersteller von Süßwaren und Knabberartikeln drohten hingegen wegen der hohen Preise in Deutschland ihre "Wettbewerbsfähigkeit zu verlieren".
Dem Verband zufolge lagen die Stromkosten in der Branche 2021 bei rund 250 Millionen Euro. Im kommenden Jahr dürften es bei gleichem Verbrauch über 2,5 Milliarden Euro sein - also eine Verzehnfachung. Das entspräche etwa 17 Prozent des Gesamtumsatzes der Branche im Jahr 2021.
In vielen Ländern profitierten die Unternehmen von einem stabileren Energiemarkt oder von bereits gedeckelten Strom- und Gaspreisen und umfangreichen Wirtschaftshilfen, betonte der Verband. "Solange es keine EU-einheitliche Lösung gibt, muss die Bundesregierung deshalb alle verfügbaren nationalen Gestaltungsspielräume nutzen."
