Grippewelle in Deutschland zu Ende: Bislang 973 Todesfälle gemeldet
Die Grippewelle in Deutschland ist zu Ende. Die seit Mitte Dezember dauernde Grippewelle endete nach Definition des Robert-Koch-Instituts (RKI) nach 15 Wochen in der vorletzten Märzwoche, wie aus dem aktuellen Wochenbericht der Arbeitsgemeinschaft Influenza (AGI) vom Mittwochabend hervorgeht.
Seit Anfang Oktober 2023 wurden dem RKI zufolge insgesamt fast 207.000 Influenzafälle gemeldet. In knapp 42.700 der laborbestätigen Fälle kamen die Patienten ins Krankenhaus, das war gut jeder Fünfte. Bislang wurden seit Oktober außerdem 973 Todesfälle im Zusammenhang mit Grippe übermittelt. 89 Prozent der Verstorbenen waren älter als 60 Jahre.
Insgesamt sank die Aktivität akuter Atemwegserkrankungen in der ersten Aprilwoche im Vergleich zur Vorwoche sowohl bei den Kindern als auch bei Erwachsenen zum Teil deutlich. Die aktuelle Inzidenz entspricht einer Gesamtzahl von etwa 3,8 Millionen akuten Atemwegserkrankungen in der Bevölkerung, unabhängig von einem Arztbesuch.
Auch der Anteil der Covid-19-Diagnosen stabilisierte sich dem AGI-Bericht zufolge auf niedrigem Niveau. Er lag in der ersten Aprilwoche bei einem Prozent.
