Vergiftete streng geschützte Wanderfalken auf Fernsehturm in Münster entdeckt
In Münster ermittelt die Polizei nach dem Fund von drei mutmaßlich vergifteten streng geschützten Wanderfalken auf dem örtlichen Fernsehturm. Wie die Beamtinnen und Beamten am Dienstag in der nordrhein-westfälischen Stadt mitteilten, verendete mindestens eines der Tiere laut toxikologischen Untersuchungen an einem in der EU bereits seit 2008 verbotenes Insektenvernichtungsmittel.
Die verendeten Falken waren demnach bereits im Juli in etwa 90 Meter Höhe auf dem Fernsehturm von Münster entdeckt und geborgen worden. Die Polizei wurde allerdings erst in der vergangenen Woche darüber informiert. Sie leitete Ermittlungen wegen Straftaten nach dem Bundesnaturschutz- sowie dem Tierschutzgesetz ein, zusätzlich wegen eines Verstoßes gegen das Chemikaliengesetz. Zeuginnen und Zeugen sollten sich mit Hinweisen melden.
