Habeck will späte Festlegung der Grünen auf Kanzlerkandidatur 2025
Bundeswirtschaftsminister Robert Habeck (Grüne) will sich mit Blick auf eine mögliche Kanzlerkandidatur für die Wahl im Herbst 2025 nicht vorzeitig festlegen. "Die Frage steht im Sommer 2025 an - drei Monate Wahlkampf reicht ja", sagte Habeck am Montagabend bei einer Veranstaltung der "Rheinischen Post" in Düsseldorf. "Ich bin Wirtschaftsminister und bin das gerne. Mit der Kanzlerkandidatur müssen wir uns jetzt nicht beschäftigen."
Angesprochen auf seine schwierige politische Zeit in den vergangenen Wochen und die Frage, ob er an Rücktritt gedacht habe, sagte Habeck: "Nein. Es gibt keine Sehnsucht, das zu beenden."
Bei der Bundestagswahl 2021 waren die Grünen mit der Kanzlerkandidatin Annalena Baerbock angetreten. Habeck hatte damals keinen Hehl daraus gemacht, dass er selbst gerne Kanzlerkandidat geworden wäre.
