EU einigt sich auf Russland-Sanktionen wegen Annexionen
Nach der russischen Annexion von vier Regionen in der Ukraine haben sich die EU-Staaten auf neue Sanktionen gegen Moskau geeinigt. Das teilte die tschechische Ratspräsidentschaft am Mittwoch im Kurzbotschaftendienst Twitter mit. Das achte Sanktionspaket seit dem russischen Einmarsch in die Ukraine im Februar durchläuft nun noch ein abschließendes Genehmigungsverfahren und soll am Donnerstag in Kraft treten.
Details der neuen Sanktionen wurden noch nicht bekanntgegeben. Die EU-Botschafter, die in den vergangenen Tagen über die Strafmaßnahmen beraten hatten, hatten dabei den Schwerpunkt auf einen möglichen Preisdeckel für russisches Öl gelegt.
Auch eine Erweiterung der EU-Sanktionsliste von Einzelpersonen aus Russland war im Gespräch gewesen. Gegen die auf der Liste stehenden Einzelpersonen gelten Einreiseverbote, auch werden Vermögenswerte eingefroren.
EU-Kommissionspräsidentin Ursula von der Leyen begrüßte die Einigung auf die neuen Sanktionen. "Wir werden nie (Präsident Wladimir) Putins Scheinreferenden noch irgendeine Art von Annexion in der Ukraine akzeptieren", twitterte sie. "Wir sind entschlossen, den Kreml weiterhin bezahlen zu lassen."
