Netanjahu nach einer Nacht aus Krankenhaus entlassen
Der ehemalige israelische Ministerpräsident Benjamin Netanjahu ist nach einer Nacht im Krankenhaus aus der ärztlichen Obhut entlassen worden. "Netanjahu ist wieder voll im Einsatz und macht sich bereit für seinen Morgenspaziergang", teilte sein Büro am Donnerstagmorgen mit. Netanjahu hatte sich am Mittwochabend während eines Gebets in einer Synagoge in Jerusalem unwohl gefühlt und sich für Untersuchungen ins Krankenhaus begeben.
Netanjahu, der in zwei Wochen 73 Jahre alt wird, sei "aus dem Schaare Sedek-Krankenhaus entlassen worden, nachdem die Ergebnisse aller Untersuchungen völlig normal waren", erklärte das Büro des Ex-Regierungschefs, der am 1. November erneut für das Amt des Ministerpräsidenten kandidiert.
Seinem Büro zufolge hatte Netanjahu aus Anlass von Jom Kippur, dem höchsten jüdischen Feiertag, gefastet. Laut israelischen Medienberichten hatte Netanjahu bei seinem Synagogenbesuch über Schmerzen in der Brust geklagt.
Ministerpräsident Jair Lapid wünschte Netanjahu, seinem Rivalen bei der Parlamentswahl, "schnelle und vollständige Genesung". In Israel wird am 1. November zum fünften Mal in weniger als vier Jahren ein neues Parlament gewählt. Jüngsten Umfragen zufolge liegt Netanjahus konservative Likud-Partei in der Wählergunst vorn. Der Rechtsblock unter Likud-Führung kann sich demnach Hoffnungen auf eine absolute Mehrheit in der Knesset machen. Netanjahu, der wegen Korruption vor Gericht steht, hatte bis 2021 zwölf Jahre in Folge regiert.
