Spanien-PK nur mit Flick: DFB droht FIFA-Geldstrafe
Dem Deutschen Fußball-Bund (DFB) droht eine Geldstrafe durch den Weltverband FIFA. Am Samstag nimmt nur Bundestrainer Hansi Flick an der obligatorischen Pressekonferenz vor dem Spiel gegen Spanien im Medienzentrum in Doha (14.15 Uhr MEZ) teil. Das bestätigte der DFB auf Anfrage.
Laut den Regularien des Weltverbandes sind die WM-Teilnehmer allerdings verpflichtet, eine Pressekonferenz am Vortag einer Begegnung mit dem Chefcoach und einem Spieler abzuhalten. Diese Regel ist in Artikel 44 der Turnierordnung festgehalten, die FIFA demnach auf den Plan gerufen.
Aufgrund der Entfernung des Team-Quartiers ganz im Norden Katars zur Hauptstadt hatte der DFB die Pressekonferenz auf dem Trainingsgelände in Al-Shamal abhalten wollen. Ein entsprechender Vorstoß fand bei der FIFA aber kein Gehör.
So machte sich Flick am Samstag ohne Spieler-Begleitung auf die rund einstündige Fahrt. Danach eilt er dieselbe Strecke wieder zurück, um rechtzeitig zum Abschlusstraining am Abend (17.30 Uhr MEZ) wieder bei der Mannschaft in Al-Shamal zu sein.
Die DFB-Auswahl wäre bei einer Niederlage gegen Spanien am Sonntag (20.00 Uhr MEZ/ZDF und MagentaTV) erneut in der WM-Gruppenphase gescheitert, sofern Japan nach dem 2:1 gegen das Flick-Team auch gegen Costa Rica punktet. Spanien hatte Costa Rica zum Auftakt 7:0 bezwungen.
