Voss-Tecklenburg: Wolfsburg in "komfortabler Situation"
Fußball-Bundestrainerin Martina Voss-Tecklenburg sieht den Titelverteidiger VfL Wolfsburg vor dem Restart der Frauen-Bundesliga im Kampf um die Meisterschaft in der Favoritenrolle. "Es ist noch nicht ganz durch, aber sie haben eine komfortable Ausgangssituation, sie haben diesen Willen und sind sehr hungrig, auch im Pokal und international ganz weit zu kommen", sagte Voss-Tecklenburg mit Blick auf die Restsaison, nach der die WM in Australien und Neuseeland ansteht (20. Juli bis 20. August).
Der makellose VfL (30 Punkte) liegt vor dem elften Spieltag mit fünf Zählern Vorsprung auf Bayern München in Führung. Die Wölfinnen sind zum Auftakt am Samstag (14.00 Uhr) beim Tabellenvierten SC Freiburg zu Gast, der FC Bayern tritt tags darauf (13.00 Uhr/beide MagentaSport) ebenfalls auswärts beim Schlusslicht Turbine Potsdam an.
Man dürfe nach Ansicht der Bundestrainerin allerdings nicht vergessen, "dass Wolfsburg und München auch noch Aufgaben in der Champions League haben", während sie in der Liga "permanent performen" müssten. Mit Blick auf die Auslosung der K.o.-Runde am 10. Februar hoffe sie, "dass es nicht schon im Viertelfinale ein deutsches Duell gibt, sondern dass beide Mannschaften die Möglichkeit bekommen, den deutschen Frauenfußball in der Champions League noch ganz weit nach vorne zu tragen."
