FIFA verurteilt Köln zu Transfersperre - FC geht in Berufung
Fußball-Bundesligist 1. FC Köln ist vom Weltverband FIFA zu einer Transfersperre verurteilt worden. Demnach dürfen die Rheinländer in den kommenden beiden Wechselperioden keine Spieler verpflichten. Dagegen will der Klub vor dem Internationalen Sportgerichtshof CAS in Berufung gehen. Das kündigte der FC am Mittwochabend an.
Der Grund für die Sperre ist der Transfer des Sturmtalents Cuber Potocnik sein. Der mittlerweile 17 Jahre alte Slowene war im Januar 2022 von Olimpija Ljubljana ablösefrei nach Köln gewechselt. Zuvor hatte seine Mutter den noch bis 2024 gültigen Vertrag aufgelöst, nachdem verschiedene Vereinbarungen angeblich nicht erfüllt worden seien.
Ljubljana warf daraufhin dem FC vor, Potocnik zum Vertragsbruch angestiftet zu haben und klagte. Die FIFA gab Olimpija nun recht. Zwar war der Angreifer für die Jugendmannschaft verpflichtet worden, die Sperre gilt jedoch für den gesamten Verein. Potocnik muss 51.750 Euro an seinen Ex-Klub zahlen, dafür haftet der FC. Der Stürmer wird außerdem ab sofort für vier Monate gesperrt.
Die Kölner werden damit in den kommenden Wechselperioden im Sommer und Winter keine Transfers tätigen dürfen, Abgänge sind aber möglich.
