"Liebe dich": Djokovic trennt sich von Trainer Ivanisevic
Tennis-Superstar Novak Djokovic hat sich überraschend von seinem langjährigen Erfolgstrainer Goran Ivanisevic getrennt. Das teilte der Weltranglisten-Erste aus Serbien am Mittwoch via Instagram mit. "Goran und ich haben vor ein paar Tagen beschlossen, die Zusammenarbeit zu beenden. Unsere Chemie auf dem Platz hatte ihre Höhen und Tiefen, aber unsere Freundschaft war immer absolut solide", schrieb Djokovic.
Der Kroate Ivanisevic war seit 2018 Teil des Trainerteams von Djokovic, unter ihm feierte Djokovic insgesamt 12 seiner 24 Grand-Slam-Titel. Der Kroate hatte selbst 2001 in Wimbledon triumphiert. "Danke für alles mein Freund. Liebe dich", schrieb Djokovic.
In diesem Jahr läuft es für Djokovic noch nicht rund. Im Januar in Melbourne war der Grand-Slam-Rekordsieger bei den Australian Open im Halbfinale ausgeschieden, beim Masters in Indian Wells scheiterte er zuletzt überraschend in der dritten Runde an dem Weltranglisten-123. Luca Nardi aus Italien. Auf das Masters in Miami verzichtete er in der Folge und begründete seine Absage damit, "seine privaten und beruflichen Pläne ausbalancieren" zu müssen.
