Völler glaubt an offenen Meisterkampf in der Bundesliga
DFB-Sportdirektor Rudi Völler erwartet in der nächsten Spielzeit einen offenen Titelkampf in der Fußball-Bundesliga. "Ich glaube, wir werden in der kommenden Saison mit Leverkusen, den Bayern, dem BVB und Leipzig einen tollen Kampf an der Tabellenspitze erleben – vielleicht ja noch mit ein, zwei anderen Teams dazu", sagte der 64-Jährige der Welt am Sonntag.
Dafür sorgt laut Völler auch der Meistertitel von Bayer Leverkusen. Dieser habe sich "zuletzt zwar angedeutet und war absehbar, aber insgesamt haben wir trotzdem wieder mehr Spannung, allein schon dadurch, dass die Dominanz der Bayern durchbrochen worden ist", sagte der langjährige Bayer-Funktionär.
Den Titelgewinn hat Völler deshalb auch ordentlich gefeiert - auf seine Art. "Ich habe nicht auf die Uhr geschaut. Aber ich saß schon sehr lange dort und habe einen schönen Abend genossen", sagte er. So saß Völler "einige Zeit ganz spontan" mit Reiner Calmund zusammen, "auch Michael Ballack kam irgendwann dazu", berichtete Völler.
