Watzke: Beim Finaleinzug gibt's das Video von 2013
Das Champions-League-Finale von 2013 existiert für Hans-Joachim Watzke quasi gar nicht. Die Erinnerung an Wembley setzt beim Geschäftsführer von Borussia Dortmund tatsächlich erst am Tag nach der bitteren Niederlage gegen Bayern München ein, das hat er immer wieder erzählt - so tief steckte er damals im Tunnel.
Selbstverständlich ist Watzke 2013 im Stadion gewesen, er verpasst BVB-Spiele seit jeher nur in absoluten Ausnahmefällen. Danach wollte er aber nie wieder was vom "German Endspiel" wissen, bis heute: "Das Finale habe ich auch elf Jahre später noch nicht angeschaut", sagte Watzke dem SID vor dem Rückspiel-Thriller im Halbfinale bei Paris St. Germain am Dienstag (21.00 Uhr/Prime Video).
Der BVB muss im Prinzenpark einen 1:0-Vorsprung aus dem Hinspiel verteidigen. Die Rückkehr zum Endspiel in London am 1. Juni gegen Bayern München oder Real Madrid "wäre ganz groß", sagte Watzke, er betonte aber auch: "Da steht allerdings noch ein Abend in Paris davor."
Gelingt der Einzug ins Finale, würde Watzke sogar endlich seine Erinnerung auffrischen, sich von den traumatischen 90 Minuten von 2013 befreien. "Sollten wir es ins Finale schaffen", sagte er, "dann schaue ich es mir an."
